Biography and Introduction
Georgia’s practice centers on the day-to-day management and strategic handling of complex litigation matters, with a focus on meticulous preparation, efficiency, and achieving optimal outcomes for her clients. She handles a wide range of disputes, including construction litigation, commercial litigation, contract claims, insurance defense and coverage, premises liability, Insurance Law §5102 defense, and tort liability.
Georgia represents both public and private sector clients, including municipalities, governmental agencies, public transportation authorities, insurers, owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers. Her extensive experience across the construction and commercial industries gives her a 360-degree perspective, allowing her to anticipate challenges, evaluate risk, and develop proactive, detail-oriented strategies tailored to each client’s objectives.
In her day-to-day practice, Georgia manages every phase of litigation. She conducts initial case evaluation, assesses alleged damages or injuries, drafts pleadings, oversees discovery, coordinates depositions, and handles court appearances, motion practice, temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, expert designation, witness preparation, and full trial preparation. She also negotiates settlements and participates in alternative dispute resolution forums, including mediation and arbitration, ensuring each matter is strategically positioned for success.
Georgia has extensive experience with breach of contract claims, terminations for convenience and cause, delay and liquidated damages disputes, construction defect claims, mechanic’s and public improvement liens, payment bond and Miller Act claims, Labor Law §§200, 240, and 241 defense, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes, indemnification, risk transfer, prevailing wage, and bid protest matters. She is skilled in guiding cases through all stages of litigation, including 50-H hearings, sustainable verdicts, and trial proceedings.
Prior to joining Wilson & Chan, Georgia practiced at a full-service law firm, handling both employment and commercial defense litigation in state and federal courts, gaining valuable experience navigating complex disputes across multiple practice areas.
Georgia earned her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. During law school, she worked at a boutique employment law firm handling workplace disputes and employer compliance matters, and volunteered with a pro bono program providing legal assistance to victims of domestic violence. Georgia is a native Greek speaker.
