Kayla’s practice focuses on the day-to-day management and strategic execution of complex litigation matters, with an emphasis on precision, efficiency, and achieving successful outcomes for her clients. She handles a wide range of disputes, including construction law, contract claims, insurance defense and coverage, premises liability, Insurance Law §5102 defense, and tort liability defense litigation. Kayla represents both public and private sector clients, including municipalities, governmental agencies, public transportation authorities, insurers, owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
In her practice, Kayla is deeply involved in the practical management of every matter, overseeing all stages of litigation from intake through resolution. She conducts thorough case evaluations, develops tailored litigation strategies, and carefully assesses potential damages and liability. Her day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing pleadings, managing discovery, coordinating and conducting depositions, preparing motions, and handling subpoenas. Kayla also manages court appearances, expert retention and disclosures, mediation, and arbitration. Her meticulous attention to detail and organized approach ensures that each case is fully prepared at every stage, positioning her clients for the best possible outcomes.
Kayla’s methodical, results-driven approach extends across all areas of her practice, including New York Labor Law §§200, 240, and 241 claims, insurance coverage disputes, contractual indemnification, Insurance Law §5102 defense litigation, and all aspects of premises and tort liability defense. Kayla earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law, where she was Communications Chair of the Black Law Student Association, an editor for the International Law Journal, and a member of the Immigration Advocacy Project. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology, cum laude, from Montclair State University, where she served as Vice President of the Caribbean Student Organization.
