Biography and Introduction

Olivia Cassandro is a skilled and detail-oriented litigator whose practice focuses on general liability defense, tort liability, and construction litigation. She represents clients in all phases of litigation, applying a disciplined, hands-on approach that combines legal precision with practical strategy. Olivia is known for her ability to manage complex cases efficiently from inception to resolution, ensuring that every step of the process advances her clients’ legal and business objectives.

Olivia’s day-to-day practice involves comprehensive case handling—including early case assessment and reporting, analysis of alleged injuries and damages, preparation of pleadings, discovery, motion practice, expert selection and disclosures, motion practice, subpoenas, and depositions. She regularly appears in court, conducts 50-H hearings. Olivia also oversees expert witness designation and preparation, coordinates with fact witnesses, and develops cases through trial preparation and verdict. Her strong command of procedural strategy and evidentiary detail allows her to craft persuasive arguments that stand up to judicial scrutiny.

Before joining Chan Vitanza, Olivia practiced at a full-service law firm where she represented clients in employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage-and-hour litigation under Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and New York State and City Human Rights Laws. That experience sharpened her skills in motion drafting, discovery, and client counseling—tools she now leverages in her broader defense and commercial litigation practice.

Olivia earned her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, where she was awarded the Richardson Merit Scholarship and Silver Pro Bono Award. While in law school, she was active in the Jewish Law Student Association (JLSA) and participated in the Brooklyn Law and Political Economy Spring Student Symposium. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy from the University of Delaware, where she graduated with Dean’s List honors (five semesters) and was recognized as a University of Delaware Scholar. She also received the Institute of Global Studies Scholarship, reflecting her strong interest in law and global policy.
